I practise Yoga because it works! I teach Yoga because I want to pass on the benefit of this ancient system to others.
My involvement with Yoga began more than 20 years ago when I was looking for a way to manage the pressure of a demanding work environment, while meeting the needs of a young family. It did the trick then and it still does now!
Attending a regular class gradually expanded into an individual practice at home; and an interest in the philosophy and practice of Yoga. I completed the British Wheel of Yoga Foundation course in 2005-6, followed by a series of workshops and retreats annually.
Several years later, I decided to step aside from a successful professional career to find a better work/life balance. In so doing, a space opened up (as, somehow, it can do) that enabled me to train as a Yoga teacher.
As well as offering regular Yoga classes for adults of all ages in West Worcestershire and the surrounding area, and online via Zoom, I work individually with students who wish to focus on particular aspects of their practice or to address specific issues relating to their health or interest. Workshops and retreats are also available for those who would like to study more intensively.
Over the past 10 years, I have been learning Vedic Chanting under the guidance of my teachers: Sheela Shankar (one of TKV Desikachar’s foremost chanting students) of Yoga Nidhi, Chennai; and Dave Charlton of Sādhana Mālā. Having now completed a formal course in this ancient discipline, I now offer chanting tuition either online or in person, by arrangement.
I hold comprehensive insurance and an up-to-date qualification in First Aid for Yoga teachers. I am a teacher member of the Association of Yoga Studies; and an accredited member of the Federation of Holistic Therapists.
My aim is to offer you a safe, reliable, authentic, well-informed, enjoyable experience of Yoga.
